Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28 1997) was an American actor and a singer. She began her professional career as an teen and is most well recognized for her role as Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), a payroll accountant, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, who was a police officer as well as a car salesman. She has three siblings. When she was a teenager She performed in nightclubs in the night, as well as sneaking out of her house to sing. After studying acting at the Wooster School, at the age of 13, she was a drama student at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under renowned Uta Hagen. She was born in Brookfield Connecticut on April 28 her birthplace, she was raised there. She is the daughter of an American-born father from Germany and a mother who is German-American. Kari is the youngest of three siblings. As a teen, Kari performed in nightclubs by going away from home. Kari was studying acting by the time she was 13. Her next stage of study was drama at Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College in addition to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in collaboration along with Uta Hagen, a renowned instructor. Kari began performing when she was in her teens, her first break on television coming in 1987's MTV Remote Control.
